I ve been waiting for one of these to open in Kansas City for forever, after seeing them in many other cities. If you work on your own car, you need to know and try this place out. It s a place to go and work on your own car in an air conditioned, roomy facility. They ve got 4-post lifts ($20/hour), 2-post lifts ($15/hour) and open bays ($10/hour) all for rent, plus a wide selection of tools and specialty automotive tools for you to use at no additional cost.
Those prices are incredibly cheap, especially when you consider the alternative – jackstands and lying on your back in your own (likely) non-air conditioned garage. The facility is open seven days a week but weekdays require an appointment. On weekends, just give them a call to make sure they have a spot and head on over there.
I used one of the open bays to do a complete polish/wax on my car – the lighting is pretty decent for that kind of job, and I had plenty of space to work. I brought all my own detailing supplies/tools though – they don t have those to use.
David, the manager, is a great guy and this is a fantastic resource for car enthusiasts in Kansas City, so I hope we all support this place and help him build a strong business. Otherwise, it s back to the jackstands/lying on your back!
And one other note, they re also a distributor of Amsoil products and have the cheapest prices I ve seen in KC.
