The Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering Department is committed to providing a learning environment which encourages discovery and advancement for the betterment of its students and the community.
The CEE department offers both undergraduate and graduate programs that prepare students for future engineering opportunities. Our programs include a B.S. in Civil Engineering (accredited by the EAC Accreditation Commission of ABET, http://www.abet.org ), a M.S. in Civil Engineering, and a Ph.D. in Environmental Science and Engineering. Our program prepares students by providing them civil engineering fundamentals through design and hands-on laboratory courses, as well as providing them opportunities to participate in cutting edge, interdisciplinary research.
The department has innovative engineering research programs in traditional and emerging fields focusing on environmental engineering, transportation, water resources, structures, and geotechnical engineering. These research programs are federally and state funded and seek to serve the needs of San Antonio, South Texas and the nation.

The faculty of the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering are committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service to the community and the engineering profession. The Civil and Environmental Engineering Department’s mission is to provide our students an education that integrates fundamental science and engineering skills with design principles to solve engineering problems. Our programs provide students opportunities for graduate education, to acquire life-long learning skills, and to participate in research that advances the discipline and benefits society. Students will be prepared to become professional engineers and leaders in the Civil and Environmental Engineering profession.
